Tent Anyone?
Oriental carpets and rugs are synonomous with Liberty; it would seem we now have branched out into tents as well. Bruce Lepere (Head of Carpets) and his team were spotted constructing this tent on the third floor. On further inspection it was found to be bedecked with traditional Moroccan stools and rugs. It was an impressive sight when hung from the ceiling (apparently 4ft tent poles weren’t much use in a wooden department store so instead they suspended the structure from the beams).
The traditional Bedouin tent was bought in from Morocco to show a customer. It just shows these men will go a long way to get what their customers want! Bruce has worked here for over 20 years and what he doesnt know about his industry isn’t worth knowing. Carpets and rugs have been in the store from the beginning, and over 130 years later Bruce continues this tradition and travels the globe sourcing the finest rugs you can buy.. and tents it would seem!
