HOW TO MAKE A LIBERTY CHARITY QUILT?

1. Get a fabulously talented quilter on board-Katherine May who has a stylish approach to make-do and mend and a passion for making evocative objects.

2. Collect Liberty prints and garments donated by the Liberty staff.

3. Create an almost archival patchwork design which focuses the eye on the donated fabrics and reflects Liberty’s story.

4. Stitch all night long… piecing the patchwork and making several quilt knots to hold all 3 layers in place.

5. Finish with hand turned and stitched edges (at lot of love and a few tears).

6. Exhibit the quilt in all its glory in Liberty’s … and on the world’s biggest auction room eBay.

7. The bidding begins… and its for Liberty’s charity of choice Variety Club

Liberty’s truly unique charity quilt is on sale until 9am on 16th April, so please do spread the word to all friends and colleagues and place your bids now! All money from the sale will go direct to the Variety Club.
