This week our ‘Fabric of the Week’ is Capel P.
This one colour floral was first printed on our fine Tana Lawn cotton in 1978, and became a classic in 1993. Capel P features small white daisies set against a pretty pink backdrop, making this design a favourite for girls’ summer dresses and birthday party bunting.

0 CommentsFor the fourth year running we’ve offered Central Saint Martins students the opportunity to design a floral fabric print to be sold in store and ultimately enter the Liberty archive. This year we had some impressive entries, from ornate line drawing to more painterly depictions – all based on the theme of botanicals and their pigments. Judges included Gorilla Gardeners, botanical illustrators, florists and our own Archivist Anna Buruma, and Chairman Marco Capello. They were thoroughly spoilt for choice and in the end selected several designs to go into production – have a peek at their designs in our filmed coverage…

New season Markus Lupfer is available now in store and online. The London based designer has gained quite a reputation for his witty embellished knitwear, and we just can’t get enough! For his Pre-Fall 2011 collection, Optic Odyssey, Lupfer took inspiration from 1950s Teddy Boys and fiber obtics. We’ve got our eyes on ‘Boo‘ – a merino wool jumper with French knotted ghost motif.
