Freida Pinto, award winning star of the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ came to Liberty yesterday to officially open the store in celebration of our Renaissance. The beautiful young actress looked stunning in a coral Dries Van Noten Dress (£420 available at Liberty)
She was shown around the store by our CEO Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye and spent time in our Style Service suite meeting everybody and trying on a range of outfits from our new collections.
It was a busy day, which has rounded off a couple of hectic months for us all, but now we can all enjoy the new look store, and it was great that Freida could join us in it’s unveiling.
We will be posting pictures of all the new rooms in the coming days and we really want to know what you think too, whether its via a comment or email web@liberty.co.uk

Freida Pinto, the stunning star of award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, brings her red-carpet glamour to Liberty this Sunday when she presides over the official renaissance of one of London’s best-loved stores following its creative transformation from top to bottom.
Pinto, who has already become a household name for her role as the heroine in Danny Boyle’s film which is hotly tipped to shine at the Oscars next week, has already won a host of fashion accolades for her style and fashion sense.
With Liberty’s Chief Executive, Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, Pinto will cut the ribbon at midday to mark Liberty’s official re-opening after a six month long refurbishment, designed to highlight its reputation for innovative design, high fashion and exceptional brands. One of the most original and eclectic stores today, de la Bourdonnaye says of Liberty:
“Liberty is one of the most loved stores in the world. The legacy of Arthur Lasenby Liberty makes the store the ultimate showcase for the finest to meet the rarest. The renaissance takes a multi-tiered approach with the focus on the product, the layout of the store itself and our impeccable style of customer service. While we are proud of our origins as an emporium of the East, we are delighted to create these collaborations with rising new design talent”.

So we are now on our penultimate day before the Renaissance at Liberty is revealed. We have posted lots on the planning and inspiration that has gone in to our new look for 2009 and we think it is only fair that you get a sneak peek into one of the rooms that has been completed already.
The Gift room has moved up to the 3rd Floor West Atrium and the offer has been carefully selected by Michelle Alger, the buyer for the room to give the customer a unique range of really beautiful pieces. So you are sure to find the perfect present (or treat for yourself!)
The room is an eclectic mix of stationery, books, dining and of course lots of fantastic gifts. New brands to Liberty such as Rob Ryan and Cire Trudon sit alongside the stalwart products, including Moorcroft and Circa giving a fresh take on the collection. Michelle told us that she is very excited by the new botanicals in the room, and the introduction of Rob Ryan, his keys have been a best seller so far and are especially apt for Valentine’s Day.
Endless inspiration and ideas await!
