Helmut Lang

Austrian born designer, Helmut Lang is known for his simple, elegant and urban design that combines deconstruction with a pared down, classic cut. Having created his Label in 1986, he left in 2005 to focus on art projects. The brand was then re-launched under the creative direction of designers Michael and Nicole Colovos (co-founders of Habitual).

Heralded for his iconic minimalism Lang inspired a whole generation of new designers, including new talents from Beligum such as Dries van Noten and Dirk Bikkembergs.
