House of Hackney takes up summer residency at Liberty

East London’s finest, House of Hackney, has taken up a summer residency here at Liberty, selling a range of new and exclusive homeware. From 18th June - 10th August, lovers of bold prints and vivid colours will be transported to a world of ombré fabrics, debauched animal motifs and heirloom designs. The new space will be filled with furniture, bed linen, cushions, china, wallpaper, fabric, lighting and home accessories.

An Arts and Crafts mahogany dresser will bow under the weight of Stoke-on-Trent made bone china, while two show-stopping beds will be adorned with the classic Dalston Rose bed linen. As well as stocking the inaugural collections – Queen Bee, Dalston Rose and Hackney Empire – the space will introduce Fighting Cocks – a scene of cocks battling against an industrial background on a woven toile de jouy (red on white).

Other new prints include English Ferns – an Art Nouveau style climbing fern (teal green on white), and Victorian Cats – a children’s print depicting felines clothed in Victorian dress in pastel hues on a stripe background. Hackney Empire will also come as a velvet stripe, available on cushions and a new sofa and chair.

“I’m a huge fan of Frieda and Javvy’s work. Their prints and concepts are taking interiors to a new level. I adore the new prints and am super excited to be stocking bed linen and accessories, mirrors, fine bone china, silk pyjamas, wallpaper and fabric for the first time.” Michelle Alger, Buying Manager for Home, Liberty.
