Playful, romantic, poetic; Astier de Villatte’s designs capture fragments of the past and the imagination. The collection is a beautiful blend of contradictions: earthy yet ethereal, irregular yet somehow perfect. Each piece is made in their Paris workshop with a sculpting technique: the clay is hand-thrown, hand-moulded on plaster moulds, then twice dried and fired. This leaves the surface with delicious 'flaws', protected and treasured as chapters in the object's story.
