LIBERTY LIFESTYLE CRAFT COLLECTION
The Liberty Lifestyle collection is a specially created range of Liberty print fabrics perfect for patchwork, craft projects and all your sewing needs. Each print is designed in house by our Lifestyle designer.
The first collection ‘Bloomsbury Gardens’ consists of five different colour palettes and eleven prints. Bloomsbury Gardens was inspired by the historic district in London. This beautiful area is notable for its array of garden squares and historic architecture, and also has a rich cultural history. It is home to the British Museum, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the University of London. The area also gave its name to the Bloomsbury Group of artists who met in private homes in the early 1900s.
Just launched, our newest collection is the Stile Collection which has been inspired by the Art Nouveau movement and also more specifically by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Liberty has a rich cultural history and an important part of this is the influence that the Art Nouveau movement had on the company and the designs it produced. In fact, Liberty designs captured the moment so well that in Italy the Art Nouveau movement is known as 'Stile Liberty’. To reverse it seemed the perfect name for our collection.
BLOOMSBURY COLLECTION
The designs were put together with this eclectic mix in mind and were primarily inspired by the beautiful squares with their abundance of plants and flowers. Other design and colour inspiration came from trips to the British Museum and also from looking at the beautiful interiors of Charleston, the home of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell and meeting places of the artists, writers and intellectuals of the Bloomsbury Group.
The Bloomsbury collection is available in store at our Regent Street store or online here.

STILE COLLECTION
When starting to design the collection, the Liberty archive was the first and obvious place to look and it soon became apparent what a rich seam of designs and reference there was to be found. Having discovered some wonderful designs to use, we decided to broaden the search for inspiration and organised a trip to Glasgow to research the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. His work seemed like a perfect fit as he was such an important representative of Art Nouveau in the United Kingdom and he had such a unique take on the movement. While in Glasgow, we took photos and visited iconic buildings such as the Glasgow School of Art, the Willow Tea Rooms and the Hunterian Museum where they have reassembled the interiors of Mackintosh’s Glasgow home. These images were then used to produce new designs to sit alongside the wonderful archive prints. There are thirty-two designs in the ‘Stile’ collection, eight different designs and four colour palettes.
The collection is currently only available to wholesale customers.
