This print was hand drawn and then printed to create the detail and shadow of vintage embroideries.

The embellishment story features three dimensional decoration of fabric which have been printed to represent embroidery, appliqué, needlepoint and lace work.

Raymond Honeyman designs prints for a broad spectrum of bases, he is best known as being one of the main designers for Erhman tapestries. On graduating, the first design he sold,‘ Snowdrops’,was bought by Liberty. Raymond believes creating a beautiful piece of art work is as much a part of the process as the beautiful end product. He paints out every stitch for his needlepoint designs and each design consists of over 50,000 stitches. Raymond also hand drew in pencil the grid he painted his design for Liberty on as he couldn’t find any graph paper he liked. Raymond has co – written a book with Mary Schoeser (who also worked with Anna Buruma to help set up the Liberty Archive) called – ‘A passion for painting pattern’.
