Matthew B Tana Lawn from the AW12 Weave story.
Inspiration for the Weave story originated from a visit to a bespoke weaver called Stephen Walters. Founded in 1720 the company moved to Suffolk in 1894. Still family- run by Julius Walters, they have a huge archive of designs and a large design studio working on new collections and bespoke orders. The entire fabric production of the weave takes place in one building – the design and yarn dyeing, weaving, finishing and inspecting.
Unique hand drawn ribbon weave, which has been galvanically printed. Galvano screens, which are used to create a hand painted print mark, have varying hole sizes and frequencies to vary the amount of ink placed in a particular area, therefore allowing for larger amounts of tonal shading on one screen.
